Hello, everyone! I'm so sorry I'm late doing this... I was going to officially wind up our awesome Promptacular Fest of 2016 on the weekend, but instead I came down with a bad head cold on top of my usual (light) hayfever... My brain seems to be working relatively well today, though, so here I am at last.

I've been really delighted by the enthusiasm brought to this fest by all the creators, readers and commenters. It's been so heartwarming! Merlin RPF might not be the hugest fandom in the world, but by golly we're a passionate one, and I love that about us.

The fest brought us lots of lovely prompts (many of which are still there for the taking!) along with the following goodies:
I am hoping we still have one more story coming in, but in the meantime we have so much to revel in. If you haven't already gone and loved the various contributions, please do so now. I promise you, you won't regret it!

(And I'll post in the next few days about what we might do next.)

Thank you again to everyone who participated and enthused! You make my heart sing, peeps. ♥

Just a quick note to say that, as you may realise, we are eagerly awaiting two last stories for the fest. Unfortunately the authors weren't able to make their posting dates - but as they are both putting some extra time and effort into their stories, I'm sure that ultimately this will benefit we readers!

Thank you all for your patience. :-)

Characters: Jamie Parker/Rupert Young
Summary: Rupert's Merlin friends all stay in touch, and some come to see him in High Society - but he's also glad to be making a new friend in Jamie Parker.
Notes: I wrote fic to my own prompt! With many thanks to Fable for beta-ing in double-quick time. ♥
Disclaimer: This flight of fancy has nothing at all to do with the actual Jamie Parker, Rupert Young, or any of the Merlin cast. The story is purely imaginary, and is not intended to cause offence.

We're almost there! Posting is scheduled to begin on 1 June. Hurrah!

This post describes how to post your fanwork for the Prompt Fest.

The posting schedule is here if you want to check it: http://merlinrpf.livejournal.com/201356.html

1. Post your fanwork online

You can post your fanwork at any time during the 24 hours of your scheduled day (based on your local time).

You can post your fanwork to this community, to your own journal, to your AO3 / tumblr / deviantart account, or to any other platform. Feel free to post wherever you'd normally post, as long as your fellow fans are able to access it.

If you post to AO3, you are more than welcome to add the fanwork to the Merlin RPF Fests collection. There is also a sub-collection which enables you to post anonymously if you wish: Merlin RPF Fests - anon entries.

2. Post a link to your fanwork to this community

You need to be a member of merlinrpf to have posting access.

Make sure you've posted your fanwork online, and it's fully viewable, BEFORE posting to the community.

Copy-and-paste the template provided in the box below, and complete the details. Alternatively, use your own version, as long as you're covering the significant points. Feel free to add more details, as you think relevant!

Feel free to also include a banner / art preview / thumbnail in the post, that links to the fanwork.

3. Tag your post

Tag your entry to the community with the following tags:

  • Characters: 'cast: [name]' for individual characters, as necessary.

  • Type: 'fanworks: [type]'.

  • Relationships: 'pairing: [name/name]' for the main relationship(s), as necessary.

  • Rating: select one only, from G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17.

  • Word count: for fic, select one range only.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for creating for this fest! I really appreciate it, and I'm sure all our fellow fans do, too.

Everyone: Please let's share the love, comments and kudos!

Any queries or problems, please do get in touch with me, and we'll sort it out.

Morning, all!

So far we have seven creators claiming posting dates, which fit relatively neatly into our initial posting period. I've assigned dates, and listed them below. (Please let me know if you have concerns, but no one is listed for a date they said they absolutely couldn't make.)

If any more creators out there want to claim a posting date, please feel free to comment against the check-in post. The more the merrier! ♥
Thank you, all! I'm really really looking forward to this...

Comments to this post are NOT screened.

Woot! I hope you've all been having fun creating fanworks for this fest.

It is now time for creators to check in and claim their posting dates. Let's begin by assuming posting dates from Wednesday 1 June to Tuesday 7 June inclusive. We can always continue longer if we need to!

Please check in and stake your claim in a new comment directly under this post. If you have more than one fanwork to post, then use a new comment and claim a different date for each one.

Copy-and-paste the template provided in the box below.

Complete the template with the following details.

  • Your name(s): The name(s) you'll be posting under, including any collaborators. It is perfectly fine to post anonymously.

  • Title: The title of your fanwork. Don't worry if it's a working title for now! Just something to identify it.

  • Fanwork type: The nature of your fanwork, as defined in this post: Fic / Drabble set / Art / Icon set / Fanmix / Fanvid / Other (please specify).

  • Character(s) and/or Pairing(s): Who are the main characters?

  • Your preferred date(s): On which date(s) between 1 and 7 June inclusive would you prefer to post? If you list a few dates, I'll assume they are in order of preference.

  • Date(s) you CANNOT post: Are there any date(s) on which you absolutely CANNOT post?

I'll reply to your comment as soon as I can to confirm your posting date (or possibly negotiate a different one).

Comments are screened.

Planning ahead…

If life happens, and you cannot post on your scheduled date, please don't hesitate to contact me (or comment on this post), and we'll come up with a Plan B.

If you switch dates with other participants, that's fine – but please do let me know ahead of time!

If you end up finishing an extra fanwork before the end of the fest, please comment against this post. I'm more than happy to add posting dates if called for!

Information about posting will be available soon. I am so looking forward to seeing what you've all come up with!

Comments are screened.

ETA: Doh! I just realised I can't reply to screened comments without unscreening them. I will therefore do a separate post with a 'posting schedule' as soon as it starts to take shape. I'm also friending those of you I haven't already, so I can PM you if necessary. Sorry about that!

[identity profile] mrs-leary.livejournal.com

Thank you very much, everyone. We have received 19 lovely prompts. A goodly number, but also easily manageable without a ‘master list’ – though if anyone would like me to create one, do ask.

Please read the Prompts and Claims Guidelines and the Fills Guidelines before claiming.

Then go to the POST YOUR PROMPTS! CLAIM THE PROMPTS! post and:

  • Claim by replying directly to the prompt-comment.

  • Mention what kind of fanwork you are creating for this prompt, e.g. ‘Claimed for art!’ or ‘Claimed for crochet!’

  • If you are taking the prompt as a starting point but envisage going completely off the grid with it, please say something about that in your claim. This acknowledges your inspiration, but also frees up the prompt for further claiming for any type of fanwork.

  • Feel free to claim more than one prompt, but please be realistic, so you’re not tying up prompts that won’t end up getting filled.

Importantly: Claiming will remain open until the check-in date, so do come back for more when you’re ready!

If you plan to create a fanwork based on your own ideas, you might like to add a comment to the POST YOUR PROMPTS! CLAIM THE PROMPTS! post to let us know. But that’s optional, if you’d rather surprise us.

Feel free to discuss your work with whoever you need to, whether the original prompter, your friends, or me.

The next formal date is 21 May 2016 for creators to check in and claim a posting date.

Huzzah! Claim, create, and have oodles of fun!
