To Infinity and Beyond...
Apologies for not posting sooner about how our community might continue on, given that the annual Prompt Fest has dwindled. (Life, you know...?)
archaeologist_d suggested (and I'm expanding on her thoughts) that we make prompting and responding more informal, e.g. a prompt in a post, with responses of comment!fic ranging from scraps of dialogue to full stories, or from doodles to full artworks, based on the creator's inspiration of the moment.
She also suggested we feel free to discuss the cast and their work, past, present and future. Which might of course feed into the above prompts-and-responses creating fictional works.
I am totally for all of this. (My only concern is where we draw the line in acknowledging that we are discussing the public personas of real people. We all draw that line in different places, but I think if we proceed with the notion of treating the cast and each other with respect, then hopefully we won't go far wrong.)
I have one other concern, and that is why this hasn't been happening already. The annual fests grew out of ongoing activity here, and weren't meant to replace it. Maybe we just needed to remember that?
In any case, I will post a couple of prompts, and welcome anyone doing the same. Let's see how we go!
